- Ensure that you backup all your data saved on the internal storage of the Galaxy Note device. A wipe operation will be required during the flashing process, and without a complete backup you might lose all your important data from your device. - Additionally you need to make a Nandroid Backup, in case you’ll want to restore your actual OS.
- A computer will be used, also the USB cable and the Note device for complete the flashing guide.
- Uninstall or disable the security protection from the used PC. These kinds of programs might interfere with the flashing process and can interrupt the same.
- On the Note, N7000 device enable the USB debugging mode option, to do this you need to follow the next path: “menu -> settings -> developer options”.
- Ensure that the battery status of the Galaxy Note device is more than 65% power left.

- Remember that, this is an unofficial installing operation, and by installing this latest custom ROM the warranty of your device will get void. If you want to restore the warranty of the device you need to downgrade to stock an official Android OS by using and manual suitable procedure.
How to install the CM 11 Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROM firmware on Galaxy Note N7000
- Download the latest CM 11 Android 4.4 KitKat update file from here and save it in your PC, do not extract (don’t unzip) the same.
- Download the Google applications pack from here, save it to your PC and don’t extract it.
- Connect the Galaxy Note N7000 device to the PC by using the USB cable.
- Now, move the downloaded files from the PC on the Note N7000 device’s SD card.
- After transferring the downloaded files and the transfer process is complete, disconnect the USB cable from PC.
- Power off the Note device and boot it into recovery mode, to enter into recovery mode you can use our tutorial from here.
- From the Recovery mode select “wipe data factory reset” and then “wipe cache partition”.
- Now, return and select from the main menu of Recovery Mode the “wipe dalvick cache”.
- Next, return once again to recovery and from there now select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.
- Browse and select the transferred CM 11 firmware and install the new custom ROM update on Galaxy Note N7000 device.
- Next, repeat the same flashing process and for this time install the Google Apps pack.
- When the installation process is done, from the main menu of Recovery Mode select “reboot system now”.
Congratulation, now you’ve successfully learned how to install the CM 11 based on Android 4.4 Jelly Bean OS on the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 device.
Troubleshooting:
If the Note device will get stuck in a boot loop then you need to enter into recovery mode and from there select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
Also, in case you don’t like very well the new custom ROM you can use the Nandroid backup for reinstall the previous system on it
